R.I.P.
I’ve had this clock/radio since the 9th grade. My father gave it to me for Christmas. He sold them at his hardware store. It went to college with me, apartment life, married life etc. I’ve spent many years relying on it’s alarm & loved listening to cassettes on it.
It’s not keeping accurate time anymore.
It’s going to the curb.
To everything turn, turn, turn…..
*tears*
Happy Birthday Nana! XOXO
This afternoon Maxi & I picked up Henry + my 2 nieces from school - we went to Nana’s to celebrate her 87th birthday. Her sister & nephew came from PA to see her. It’s been quite a few years since we’ve all been together. I think maybe my Papa’s funeral was the last time I saw her. (5yrs?)
It was great fun! The kids played, grown-ups reminisced…..the house was full of life. It felt good to introduce my children to their family. I can still smell Aunt Peg’s perfume on my scarf…..old lady stuff, real strong <3
And there was cake too!
Henry had his 1st piano lesson tonight.
He was quiet & bashful with his teacher but he did great!! She’s a lovely young lady, which may have something to do with it ;)
She was very impressed with how quickly he’s learning.
*proud mother*
Go Henry!!
Sunday
I’m doing nothing. I’ve been exhausted since we’ve been back from NY. It’s cold & windy here. As I type this, it’s like a snow globe outside! Lake effect snow is the craziest. It could be calm & clear here but once you drive over the bridge it could be a white out!
I made a ham dinner last night. we’ll eat the leftovers tonight with some Swiss chard & mashed potatoes.
2 other very random notes that I want to document here:
*My 9 yr old son is getting so big that we almost have the same size shoe. (& I have big feet for a woman!) Why cant we make time stand still?
*I also found out that The Avett Bros, Felice Brothers, Steve Martin and his band, Zappa does Zappa are all coming to the area in the spring. I don’t think I can handle it.
XO have a good day
This Dog
I picked her up from the kennel this morning, she got straight A’s on her report card! *proud mama!*
She was so happy to be home, she couch surfed like Tom Cruise- jumping from couch to couch, running from room to room! There’s no stopping her, all I do is watch and wait for her to settle down.
Now she is back to her old “Snoopy” self. Relaxing, occasionally stretching and giving a yawn, without a care.
